Mac OS VentreでVeraCryptを入れる方法

2023年現在、何も考えずにMac OS Ventreをいれてしまった私みたいな人のために記事残しておきます。
これは、Apple Storeで認められたアプリケーションをインストールするような普通の人には全く必要のない記事ですが、その辺のウェブサイトに掲載されているような（たとえ怪しくなくても）、Appleの認証を受けていないソフトウェアを入れようとしても、入れることができません。

それは、Privacy & SecurityのインターフェースにかつてあったGeneral Preferenceというタブが存在しないことに起因します。以前はそこから＋ボタンを押して、そのソフトウェアを追加すれば良かったのですが、この新しいバージョンにはその権限すら一般平民ユーザーには許可されていないのです。

そこで、1−2日悪戦苦闘したのですがいい情報なかった気がするので、こちらに残します。

もともとはMITのMicroMasterプログラムのワークショップで、個人情報満載のデータを、de-identification(個人情報をなくす）ためにソフトウェアを利用するという実習のためでした。

使うソフトウェアはVeraCryptです（まだ実習やる前なんでどんな動きかは要望あれば）。

これを入れるためには、MacFUSEはを入れなければいけません。これはMac OS X上でファイルシステムを実装するためのオープンソースフレームワークです。今回VeraCryptを入れる前のMacFuseのインストールで苦戦しました。

今回メインとなるのはこのMacFuseをどうVentreで入れるか？というお話です。

まず、Privacy &Securityのところに行き、エクステンションをいれるには許可がいるというところで、再起動が求められます。再起動の方法は以前のcommand + Rではなく、電源長押しになっています。再起動後、10秒以上長押しするとオプションというギアマークのアイコンを選択、つづけるをクリックします。

そのあと４つアイコンが並んでいますが、そこではなく上のメニューの中でユーリリティのセキュリティのセッティングを選びます。

そこでFull Securityになっているところを、Reduced Securityを選びます。そしてAllow user managementを選び再起動をします。

その後、もう一度Privacy & Securityを選びエクステンションを選ぶと、今度はどのソフトを使わせるか選ぶことができます！！！

これで今回起動させたいBenjamin FleischerをOnにして再起動！

This is an article that is completely unnecessary for the average person who installs applications approved by the Apple Store. However, if you try to install software that is not Apple-approved (even if it is not questionable), such as those listed on those websites, you will not be able to install it.

This is due to the fact that the General Preference tab that used to be in the Privacy & Security interface no longer exists. In the past, I could just click the + button and add the software, but this new version does not even grant that permission to the average civilian user.

The software used is VeraCrypt (I haven’t had a chance to do the exercise yet, so I’m not sure how it works on request).

In order to install this, MacFUSE must be installed. This is an open-source framework for implementing file systems on Mac OS X. I had a hard time installing MacFuse before installing VeraCrypt this time.

The main topic of this article is how to install MacFuse with Ventre. First of all, I would like to talk about Privacy &Security.

First, I went to the Privacy &Security section and was asked to restart when I was told that I needed permission to install the extension. The reboot method is now a long press on the power button instead of the previous command + R. After rebooting, press and hold for more than 10 seconds to select the gear symbol icon called Options, then click Continue.

After that, you will see 4 icons in a row, but instead of there, select the Eurity security settings in the menu at the top.

Select “Reduced Security” instead of “Full Security”. Then select Allow user management and reboot.

After that, choose Privacy & Security again and select Extensions, and this time you can choose which software you want to use!

Now turn on Benjamin Fleischer, which we want to activate this time, and reboot!
